Overview:

The Manley Performance Platinum Series piston set is engineered specifically for Chrysler 5.7L HEMI engines requiring a 3.937-inch bore with a .020-inch oversize. Designed for serious enthusiasts and professional engine builders, these pistons deliver exceptional strength and reliability under demanding conditions.

Constructed from premium 2618 alloy forgings, this piston set is ideal for those looking to upgrade their engine’s durability and performance. Whether you are building a high-performance street engine or a race-ready powerplant, these pistons provide the foundation for improved combustion efficiency and long-lasting operation.

Key Features:

Manley’s Platinum Series pistons incorporate advanced materials and design features to ensure optimal performance and durability:

• Forged from high-strength 2618 aluminum alloy for superior fatigue resistance and thermal stability.
• Proven cam and barrel skirt profiles reduce friction and wear, enhancing piston-to-cylinder wall interaction.
• Includes precision tool steel wrist pins for increased strength and reduced weight.
• Moly skirt coatings on select part numbers reduce friction and improve break-in characteristics.
• 9.3cc dome design optimizes combustion chamber shape for improved power and efficiency.
• Specifically sized for a 3.937-inch bore with a .020-inch oversize to restore or increase cylinder diameter.
• Compatible with stock and aftermarket connecting rods designed for Chrysler 5.7L HEMI engines.

Construction & Design:

Each piston in this set is meticulously crafted using 2618 alloy, known for its excellent strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to high temperatures. The forging process ensures a dense, uniform grain structure that withstands the rigors of high-performance operation.

The cam and barrel skirt profiles have been extensively tested to minimize piston slap and reduce wear on cylinder walls, contributing to longer engine life and smoother operation. Tool steel wrist pins provide a durable connection between the piston and connecting rod, capable of handling elevated loads without deformation.

The moly skirt coating applied to select pistons further reduces friction during the critical break-in period, promoting quicker seating and less wear. The 9.3cc dome shape is designed to enhance combustion efficiency by improving flame propagation and compression characteristics.

Installation & Fitment:

This piston set is engineered as a direct replacement for Chrysler 5.7L HEMI engines requiring a .020-inch oversize bore. It fits engines with a 3.937-inch bore diameter and is compatible with stock or aftermarket components designed for this specification.

Installation requires standard engine assembly procedures, including proper honing and cleaning of cylinder bores. No special modifications or tuning changes are inherently required solely due to piston installation, but professional assembly and balancing are recommended for optimal results.
