Cat-Back vs Axle-Back
A cat-back replaces the mid-pipe and mufflers from the catalytic converter back. More performance gain, full system upgrade. The 2019–2024 Ram 1500 has limited axle-back options; cat-backs are the primary choice. Both install behind the cats and are 50-state emissions legal.
Ram Classic vs New Body
2019+ Ram 1500 is the fifth-gen “new body”. Ram Classic (2019–2024) is the previous-generation body still sold. Exhaust routing differs. Borla S-Type excludes Ram Classic. Most systems in this guide fit the new-body 5.7L Hemi. TRX (6.2L) has separate SKUs.
