How This Guide Works

Select your vehicle and generation below. Each guide provides a full comparison of every lift kit we carry for that specific application — including lift heights by trim, pricing, brand breakdowns, and important fitment notes you need to know before buying.

Before You Buy

What You Need to Know About Lift Kits

🔧

Lift Height vs. Tire Size

A 2" lift comfortably clears 33" tires. A 2.5–3" lift handles 33–35" tires (some trimming may be needed). A 3.5–4" lift opens the door to 35–37" tires. Always confirm backspacing and fender clearance for your specific wheel and tire combination.

🚗

2WD vs. 4WD Fitment

Many lift kits are designed for 4WD models only. Ram 1500 2WD and 4WD often use different kits. Always verify your drivetrain before ordering. Our guides clearly mark which kits fit 2WD, 4WD, or both.

Driveline & Steering Geometry

Lifts above 2.5" change driveshaft angles and can cause vibrations at highway speeds. Adjustable control arms or a slip yoke eliminator (SYE) may be needed for 4"+ lifts. Budget $200–$600 for driveline corrections on aggressive lifts. A front-end alignment is essential after any lift installation.

💰

Springs vs. Spacers vs. Coilovers

Spacer lifts are the most affordable but can reduce suspension travel. Spring lifts maintain full travel and improve ride quality. Coilovers offer adjustable height and damping at a premium. Check our Suspension Buyers Guide for a full comparison.

1500 vs. 2500/3500

The Ram 1500 uses independent front suspension; the 2500 and 3500 use a solid front axle. Kits are not interchangeable between 1500 and 2500/3500. Diesel 2500/3500 models often require different kits than gas models. Each guide breaks this down by configuration.

🔧

Professional Installation

Lifts of 3" or more typically require driveline modifications and precise alignment. Professional installation is recommended to ensure correct fitment, proper geometry, and warranty compliance. Many shops specialize in Jeep and Ram lift installations.
