What You Need to Know About Lowering Springs
Drop Height Varies by Trim
The same spring kit can produce different drop heights depending on your vehicle's trim and engine. An R/T with a heavier Hemi will sit lower than a V6 model on the same springs. Each guide breaks this down by sub-model.
Self-Leveling / Nivomat Suspension
Some models come with self-leveling rear shocks (Nivomat). Not all lowering springs are compatible. Our guides flag which kits require Nivomat removal or replacement, and which work with it.
Shocks & Struts Matter
Most lowering springs work with factory shocks, but worn dampers will compromise ride quality. If your vehicle has high mileage, consider upgrading to performance shocks for the best results.
Springs vs. Coilovers
Lowering springs offer a set drop at the lowest cost. If you want adjustable ride height and damping, consider coilovers instead. Check our Suspension Buyers Guide for a full comparison.
SRT / Scat Pack / Hellcat Fitment
High-performance trims have unique suspension geometry and electronic damping. Many standard lowering kits do NOT fit these models. Each guide clearly marks which kits are SRT/Hellcat compatible.
RWD vs. AWD
Most lowering spring kits are designed for RWD models only. AWD options are extremely limited. If you have an AWD 300 or Charger, our guides highlight the few kits that will fit your vehicle.
