Technical Foundation
Complete vs Tuner Kit & Roots vs Centrifugal
Understanding these concepts will help you choose the right kit. Our Supercharger Buyers Guide covers this in depth; here’s the essentials.
Complete Kit vs Tuner Kit
A Tuner Kit is the supercharger hardware only. It does not include: larger fuel injectors, upgraded MAP sensor, fuel pump (or booster), handheld programmer/flash tool, or the supercharger tune. Those components are 100% necessary to run safely. All Ripp Durango 3.6L kits are Complete Kits — fuel, tuning, and everything included. No Tuner Kits for the Durango V6.
Roots vs Centrifugal
Centrifugal (Ripp, ProCharger, Vortech) superchargers mount off the side of the engine. Ripp uses the Vortech V-3 head unit — proven, reliable, streetable. Per the Buyers Guide: “If you are a 3.6L V6 Pentastar owner, then Ripp is probably the best option for you.” Ripp is the primary supercharger option for the Durango 3.6L; no Roots-style kits are offered for this application.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are there three different Ripp kits?
Durango platform and PCM changed between 2011–2014, 2015, and 2016+. The 2015 model year has unique PCM requirements. The 2016+ Durango uses a different platform. Each kit is calibrated for its specific years. Do not use the 11–14 kit on a 2016+ — it will not fit.
Which kit fits my 2024 or 2025 Durango?
The 2016–2023 Ripp kit may extend to 2024; confirm with FastHemis or Ripp before ordering. 2025–2026 Durango may require a new kit or verification.
Will a supercharger void my warranty?
Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer cannot void your entire warranty for aftermarket parts. However, powertrain claims related to forced induction may be denied.
Do I need to dyno tune?
Yes. Ripp includes a standard tune, but vehicles must be dyno tuned by an experienced calibrator for best results. The included tune is a starting point.
Is there a ProCharger or Edelbrock for Durango 3.6L?
Ripp is currently the only supercharger option for the Dodge Durango 3.6L V6. ProCharger and Edelbrock offer kits for other 3.6L applications (Wrangler, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee) but not the Durango.
