What to Know Before You Buy
RWD vs. AWD
Your drivetrain determines your options. AWD models (300, 300C AWD) can use the BC Racing BR or KW V2 AWD kits. RWD models (300 V6, 300C 5.7L, 300C SRT8) have access to KW V2 V6/V8, Ridetech HQ Complete, and KW Clubsport. Ridetech and Clubsport do not fit AWD.
Engine-Specific Kits
KW offers separate kits for V6 (2.7/3.5L) and V8 (5.7/6.1L) due to different spring rates and damper valving. The Ridetech HQ Complete is the only kit that fits all RWD 300 models with a single SKU. BC Racing BR fits all AWD 300s regardless of engine.
Nivomat / Self-Leveling
Many 2005–2010 Chrysler 300s came with Nivomat self-leveling rear shocks. Coilovers replace the entire strut assembly, so Nivomat is removed during installation. No compatibility concerns — coilovers are the cleanest solution if you have Nivomat and want to lower.
Coilovers vs. Lowering Springs
Coilovers offer adjustable height and often damping. If you prefer a fixed drop at lower cost, see our lowering springs guide for the Chrysler 300. At 15–20 years old, your factory shocks are likely worn; coilovers replace them entirely.
BC Racing BR Coilovers
The BC Racing BR is the only budget-friendly coilover option for AWD Chrysler 300s. At $1,195 (currently on sale from $1,315), it undercuts the KW V2 AWD by over $1,400 while offering 30-click simultaneous compression and rebound adjustment. The -1.0" to -2.0" front and rear drop range covers everything from a mild stance to a noticeably lowered look. BC Racing tunes spring rates for a balance of comfort and performance, and the monotube design provides consistent damping.
This single SKU (Z-04-BR) fits all 2005–2023 Chrysler 300 AWD models regardless of engine — 2.7L, 3.5L, 3.6L V6 or 5.7L Hemi. Installation replaces the factory struts and springs, including Nivomat self-leveling if equipped. The 2-year warranty is shorter than KW’s, but for AWD owners who want coilover adjustability without premium pricing, the BC BR is the clear value pick.
Pros
- Only affordable coilover for AWD 300
- 30-click compression/rebound adjustment
- Single SKU fits all AWD engines
- Replaces Nivomat self-leveling
- Monotube design, fully rebuildable
Cons
- AWD only — no RWD fitment
- 2-year warranty vs. KW lifetime
- Less refined than KW at highway speeds
KW V2 Coilover Kit AWD
The KW Variant 2 AWD is the premium coilover choice for AWD Chrysler 300 owners. German-engineered with Inox-Line stainless steel construction, 16-click rebound damping, and TÜV certification, it delivers refined ride quality and precise handling. The -1.2" to -2.1" front and rear drop range is slightly wider than the BC BR, and the vehicle-specific damper valving is developed through Nürburgring testing.
KW offers separate kits for V6 and V8 AWD models. The V6 kit (15227007) fits 2.7L, 3.5L, and 3.6L engines. The V8 kit (15227017) fits the 5.7L Hemi 300C AWD. Spring rates and valving are tuned for each engine’s weight. Both kits replace factory self-leveling shocks and include a limited lifetime warranty when installed by an authorized KW dealer. If you want the best AWD coilover and budget allows, the KW V2 is it.
KW V2 AWD Variants

- 16-click rebound damping
- Engine-specific spring rates and valving
- Limited lifetime warranty (with dealer install)

- More than double the price of BC BR
- Must order correct kit for V6 vs. V8
- AWD only
KW V2 Coilover Kit V6 RWD
The KW V2 V6 RWD (part #15227006) is the best value RWD coilover for base 300 and 300C V6 models. It fits 2.7L and 3.5L rear-wheel-drive Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum models from 2005 to 2010. The -0.8" to -2.0" front / -0.9" to -2.1" rear drop range allows everything from a subtle tuck to an aggressive stance. Rebound damping is adjustable via 16 clicks, and the sport dampers replace the factory self-leveling shocks.
At $2,794, it’s priced identically to the KW V2 V8 RWD. The V6 kit uses lighter spring rates tuned for the 2.7L and 3.5L engines. Inox-Line stainless construction and TÜV certification ensure long-term durability. For RWD V6 owners who want KW quality without the track-focused Clubsport price, this is the pick.
Pros
- Engine-specific tuning for V6 RWD
- 16-click rebound, Inox-Line stainless
- Replaces Nivomat self-leveling
- TÜV certified, limited lifetime warranty
Cons
- V6 RWD only — no V8 fitment
- Same price as V8 kit (no discount for smaller engine)
KW V2 Coilover Kit V8 RWD
The KW V2 V8 RWD (part #15227016) is the best overall coilover for 300C and 300C SRT8 owners. It fits 5.7L Hemi and 6.1L SRT8 rear-wheel-drive models from 2005 to 2010. The same -0.8" to -2.0" front / -0.9" to -2.1" rear range as the V6 kit, but with spring rates and damper valving tuned for V8 weight. This is the most versatile RWD coilover: daily-driver comfort with track-day capability.
KW’s vehicle-specific development means the 300C and SRT8 get proper treatment for their heavier front ends. The 16-click rebound adjustment lets you dial in comfort for highway cruising or firmness for canyon runs. If you have a 300C or SRT8 and want one coilover that does everything well, the KW V2 V8 RWD is the default recommendation.
Pros
- Best balance of comfort and performance for V8 RWD
- Fits both 5.7L and 6.1L SRT8
- 16-click rebound, Inox-Line stainless
- Strong community reputation, TÜV certified
Cons
- V8 RWD only
- No compression adjustment (Clubsport has 2-way)
Ridetech HQ Coilovers Complete Kit
The Ridetech HQ Complete Kit is the only coilover that fits every RWD 2005–2010 Chrysler 300 with a single SKU. No need to choose between V6 and V8 — one kit covers the 300, 300C, and 300C SRT8. The -1.0" to -3.0" front and rear drop range is the widest in this guide, giving you maximum flexibility for stance and tire fitment.
Ridetech builds these in the USA with monotube shocks, progressive-rate springs, and adjustable ride height and damping. The kit is designed for direct bolt-on installation with no cutting or welding. At $2,910, it sits between the KW V2 and KW Clubsport. If you want one universal RWD kit, broad adjustability, and American-made construction, the Ridetech HQ Complete is the answer.
Pros
- Single SKU fits all RWD 300 (V6 and V8)
- Widest drop range (-1" to -3")
- Made in USA
- Monotube design, progressive springs
Cons
- RWD only — does not fit AWD
- No product image available
- Slightly more than KW V2
KW Clubsport Coilover Kit
The KW Clubsport is the track-focused coilover for 300C and SRT8 owners who want independent rebound and compression damping. Unlike the V2’s rebound-only adjustment, the Clubsport offers 2-way tuning — you can dial in low-speed compression and rebound separately for precise handling on track day tires. Developed with motorsport input and tested on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
It fits 2005–2010 Chrysler 300C 5.7L Hemi and 6.1L SRT8 RWD. The drop range (-0.8" to -2.0" F / -0.9" to -2.1" R) matches the V2, but the solid aluminum unibal top mounts, linear race springs up front, and TVR-A/TVC-A valve technology deliver a noticeably sharper, more responsive feel. At $3,594, it’s the most expensive option in this guide. Worth it if you regularly hit the track.
Pros
- 2-way rebound and compression adjustment
- Track-developed, Nürburgring tested
- Solid aluminum top mounts, camber adjustment
- Linear race springs, Inox-Line construction
Cons
- Most expensive option
- V8 RWD only (5.7L, 6.1L)
- Firmer than V2 for daily driving

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to replace my factory shocks when installing coilovers?
No. Coilovers replace both the spring and the shock as a single unit. You remove the factory strut assembly and install the coilover in its place. No separate shock replacement is needed. This also means Nivomat self-leveling is removed — coilovers are the ideal solution if you have Nivomat and want to lower.
Will coilovers void my factory warranty?
Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer cannot void your entire warranty for installing aftermarket parts. However, claims related to suspension components may be denied. On a 2005–2010 vehicle, factory warranties have long since expired, so this is a non-issue for this generation.
How does adjustable damping work?
KW V2 offers 16-click rebound adjustment — you dial in how quickly the shock extends after compression. BC Racing BR offers 30-click simultaneous compression and rebound. KW Clubsport offers independent 2-way adjustment (rebound and compression separately) for track-level tuning. Fixed-damping coilovers (like Ridetech’s base setting) are pre-valved for street use.
Should I get coilovers or lowering springs?
Coilovers give you adjustable height and often damping, ideal for dialing in stance or track use. Lowering springs offer a fixed drop at lower cost. For the 2005–2010 Chrysler 300, we have a full lowering springs comparison if you prefer that route. Coilovers are especially appealing if you have Nivomat, since they replace it entirely.
I have an AWD 300C. What are my options?
Two coilover options fit AWD: BC Racing BR ($1,195) and KW V2 AWD ($2,684). The BC BR is a single SKU for all AWD engines. The KW V2 requires choosing the V6 or V8 kit. BC offers 30-click damping at half the price; KW offers German engineering and lifetime warranty. Both replace Nivomat.
I have a 300C SRT8. Which coilover is best?
For RWD SRT8 owners: KW V2 V8 RWD is the best overall balance of comfort and performance. KW Clubsport is the track-focused choice with 2-way damping. Ridetech HQ Complete fits SRT8 and offers the widest drop range (-1" to -3") in a single universal RWD kit.
