What to Know Before You Buy
Trim Fitment Varies
Five coilover options exist for the 2011-2014 Charger. ST XA fits V6 and 5.7L RWD only — not SRT8. KW V2, KSport, KW HAS, and FOX fit all RWD trims including SRT8. Choose based on your engine.
SRT8 Electronic Damping
2012-2014 SRT8 models use factory Bilstein electronic adaptive dampers. KW HAS works with factory EDC by design. Full coilover kits (KW V2, KSport, ST XA, FOX) replace the factory dampers entirely, so EDC is bypassed.
Installation & Alignment
Full coilover installation replaces struts and springs. KW HAS is a sleeve kit that works with factory struts. Professional install is recommended. Budget for a four-wheel alignment after any suspension change.
Coilovers vs. Lowering Springs
Coilovers offer adjustable height and often damping. If you prefer a fixed drop at lower cost, see our lowering springs guide for the Charger.
KW HAS Coilover Sleeve Kit
The KW HAS (Height Adjustable Spring) kit is the most affordable option for the 2011-2014 Charger. It uses adjustable sleeves that work with your factory struts and shocks, so you keep the original damping (including EDC on SRT8) while gaining ride height adjustability. Drop range is modest: 0 to -1.0" front, -0.2" to -1.0" rear.
Ideal for owners who want a subtle drop without replacing the entire suspension. KW HAS maintains compatibility with factory adaptive damping, so SRT8 owners keep their electronic suspension functionality.
Pros
- Lowest price of the five
- Works with factory EDC (SRT8)
- KW quality, German engineering
- Continuous height adjustment
Cons
- Modest drop range (under 1")
- No damping adjustment
- Uses factory struts (wear-dependent)
KSport Kontrol Pro Damper Coilovers
The KSport Kontrol Pro offers the most damping adjustability at the lowest full-coilover price. With 36 levels of simultaneous compression and rebound adjustment, you can fine-tune ride quality from comfort to track-stiff. The monotube design and adjustable lower mount provide consistent damping and a wide height range: -1.0" to -3.0" front and rear.
KSport fits all 2011-2014 Charger RWD trims including SRT8. It replaces the factory suspension entirely, so EDC is bypassed on SRT8 models. Strong value for enthusiasts who want full coilover performance without KW-level pricing.
Pros
- 36-click compression/rebound adjustment
- Widest drop range (-1" to -3")
- Fits all RWD trims including SRT8
- Lowest full-coilover price
Cons
- Budget brand (less proven than KW/ST)
- Replaces EDC on SRT8
ST Suspensions ST XA Coilover Kit
The ST XA is built by KW in Germany and offers 16-click rebound damping with a drop range of -1.2" to -2.6" front, -1.4" to -2.6" rear. Galvanized struts and composite spring perches provide corrosion resistance. The rebound adjustment lets you tune handling without the complexity of compression/rebound kits.
Fitment note: ST XA is designed for 3.6L V6 and 5.7L Hemi RWD only. It does not fit SRT8 (6.4L) models. SRT8 owners should choose KW V2, KSport, KW HAS, or FOX.
Pros
- KW-built, 5-year warranty
- 16-click rebound adjustment
- Galvanized corrosion resistance
- Good balance of price and quality
Cons
- V6 and 5.7L only — excludes SRT8
- Rebound-only (no compression adjustment)
FOX Performance 2.0 Coilover Reservoir Shock Kit
The FOX Performance Series 2.0 brings off-road and motorsports shock technology to the Charger. Reservoir shocks improve heat dissipation for consistent damping during extended track use. Vehicle-specific valving and adjustable ride height deliver a stable, planted feel. A DSC (Dynamic Suspension Control) variant is available at higher cost for remote damping adjustment.
FOX fits all 2011-2014 Charger RWD trims. The kit transforms the rear to a true coilover setup, improving motion ratio and ride height adjustability. Ideal for drivers who split time between street and track.
Pros
- Reservoir design for track use
- USA-made, proven in motorsports
- Fits all RWD trims
- DSC variant available (remote adjustment)
Cons
- Premium price
- May be overkill for daily-only use
KW Variant 2 Coilover Kit
The KW V2 is the premium option for the 2011-2014 Charger. It fits V6, R/T, and SRT8 with 16-click rebound damping and a drop range of -1.2" to -2.6" front, -1.8" to -3.2" rear. Stainless Inox-Line construction resists corrosion. Compatible with KW electronic damper delete modules for EDC-equipped SRT8 models.
KW's reputation for quality and TUV certification make the V2 the go-to for enthusiasts who want the best. The broad trim coverage (V6 through SRT8) and adjustable rebound allow fine-tuning for street or track.
Pros
- Fits V6, R/T, and SRT8
- 16-click rebound, stainless construction
- German engineering, TUV certified
- EDC delete modules available
Cons
- Highest price of the five
- EDC delete required for SRT8

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to replace my factory shocks when installing coilovers?
Full coilover kits (KW V2, KSport, ST XA, FOX) replace both spring and shock. KW HAS is different — it works with your factory struts, so no shock replacement is needed.
Will coilovers void my factory warranty?
Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer cannot void your entire warranty for installing aftermarket parts. However, claims related to suspension components may be denied.
I have an SRT8. Can I keep my electronic damping?
Only KW HAS works with factory EDC. All other kits replace the dampers, so EDC is bypassed. KW V2 offers delete modules for SRT8 if needed.
Should I get coilovers or lowering springs?
Coilovers give you adjustable height and often damping. Lowering springs offer a fixed drop at lower cost. For the Charger, we have a lowering springs comparison if you prefer that route.
I have a V6 Charger. Which coilover should I get?
All five options fit. KW HAS is cheapest if you want a subtle drop. KSport offers the most adjustability at full-coilover price. ST XA is KW-built with 16-click rebound. FOX and KW V2 are premium choices.
I have an SRT8. Which coilover fits?
KW HAS, KSport, FOX, and KW V2 all fit SRT8. ST XA does not (V6/5.7L only). KW HAS keeps factory EDC. The others replace it. KW V2 is the premium choice with 16-click rebound and stainless construction.
