What to Know Before You Buy

Trim Fitment Varies

Four coilover options exist for the 2015-2023 Charger, but trim coverage differs. ST XA fits V6 and 5.7L RWD only — not Scat Pack or Hellcat. BC Racing DS fits Scat Pack, Hellcat, and RT 392 exclusively. H&R covers V8 models (R/T through Hellcat). Ridetech fits all RWD Chargers.

EDC / Electronic Damping

Scat Pack and above use factory Bilstein electronic adaptive dampers. All four coilovers on this page replace the factory dampers entirely, so EDC is bypassed. Ridetech and BC Racing include or support delete modules if needed.

Installation & Alignment

Full coilover installation replaces struts and springs. Professional install is recommended. Budget for a four-wheel alignment after installation to preserve tire wear and handling.

Coilovers vs. Lowering Springs

Coilovers offer adjustable height and often damping. If you prefer a fixed drop at lower cost, see our lowering springs guide for the Charger.

Budget Pick

ST Suspensions ST XA Coilover Kit

$1,399 • Made in Germany • 16-Click Rebound

ST Suspensions ST XA Coilover Kit for 2015-2023 Dodge Charger

The ST Suspensions ST XA is the most affordable coilover option for the 2015-2023 Charger. Built by KW in Germany, it offers 16-click rebound damping adjustment and a wide height range: -1.2" to -2.6" front, -1.4" to -2.6" rear. The galvanized struts and composite spring perches provide good corrosion resistance for daily use.

Important fitment note: The ST XA is designed for 3.6L V6 and 5.7L Hemi RWD only. It does not fit Scat Pack (6.4L), SRT 392, or Hellcat models. If you have a performance trim, choose BC Racing DS, H&R, or Ridetech instead.

Pros
  • Lowest price of the four
  • 16-click rebound damping
  • KW-built, 5-year warranty
  • Galvanized corrosion resistance
Cons
  • V6 and 5.7L only — excludes Scat Pack/Hellcat
  • Rebound-only adjustment (no compression)
Best for Scat Pack / Hellcat

BC Racing DS Coilovers

$1,415 • Taiwan • 30-Click Compression/Rebound

BC Racing DS Coilovers for 2015-2023 Dodge Charger Scat Pack Hellcat

The BC Racing DS is the only coilover engineered specifically for Charger Scat Pack, Hellcat, Demon, and RT 392 models. It uses a digressive piston design for improved low-speed damping (roll, pitch, dive) while maintaining linear response at higher speeds. With 30-click simultaneous compression and rebound adjustment, you get fine-tuning capability typically found on higher-priced kits.

Front camber plates are included for alignment customization. The -1.0" to -3.0" drop range is the widest of any option here. If you have a V6 or 5.7L R/T, the BC DS does not fit — choose ST XA, H&R, or Ridetech.

Pros
  • Only option designed for Scat Pack/Hellcat/392
  • 30-click compression/rebound adjustment
  • Digressive piston for handling
  • Includes front camber plates
  • Widest drop range (-1" to -3")
Cons
  • Scat Pack/392/Hellcat only — excludes V6 and R/T
  • 2-year warranty (shorter than ST XA)

H&R Street Performance Coilovers

$1,780 $1,620 • Made in Germany • Fixed Damping

H&R Street Performance Coilovers for 2015-2023 Dodge Charger

H&R Street Performance Coilovers fit 2015-2023 Charger R/T, Scat Pack, SRT 392, and Hellcat V8 models. They offer a street-tuned fixed damping profile with adjustable height: -1.2" to -2.5" front, -1.2" to -2.2" rear. Mono-tube gas shock construction and progressive springs deliver a balanced ride for daily driving and spirited use.

For the Charger, H&R specifically fits V8 RWD models (5.7L, 6.4L, 6.2L). V6 Chargers are not covered by this kit — use ST XA or Ridetech instead. The shared Challenger/Charger product is a strong value when on sale.

Pros
  • Street-tuned for daily comfort
  • Fits R/T through Hellcat V8
  • Mono-tube construction
  • Made in Germany
Cons
  • V8 only — excludes V6 Charger
  • Fixed damping (no adjustment)

Ridetech HQ Coilovers Complete Kit

$2,910 • USA • Rebound Adjustable

13040201

The Ridetech HQ Complete Kit is the only option that fits all 2015-2023 Charger RWD trims — V6, R/T, Scat Pack, and Hellcat. It replaces both front and rear suspension with a full coilover setup. The adjustable rebound damping and -1.0" to -3.0" height range give you broad adjustability for stance and handling.

Ridetech is USA-made and popular in the pro-touring and restomod community. The HQ kit is a complete front-and-rear solution; do not confuse it with the Front-only or Rear-only Ridetech products, which are sold separately as add-ons.

Pros
  • Fits all RWD Charger trims (V6 through Hellcat)
  • Adjustable rebound damping
  • USA-made
  • Widest trim coverage
Cons
  • Highest price of the four
  • Full kit install is more involved

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to replace my factory shocks when installing coilovers?

No. Coilovers replace both the spring and the shock as a single unit. You remove the factory strut assembly and install the coilover in its place. No separate shock replacement is needed.

Will coilovers void my factory warranty?

Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer cannot void your entire warranty for installing aftermarket parts. However, claims related to suspension components may be denied. Coilovers typically don't cause warranty issues elsewhere on the vehicle.

How does adjustable damping work?

ST XA and Ridetech offer rebound adjustment — you dial in how quickly the shock extends after compression. BC Racing DS offers 30-click simultaneous compression and rebound. More clicks = finer tuning. Fixed-damping coilovers (like H&R) are pre-valved for street use.

Should I get coilovers or lowering springs?

Coilovers give you adjustable height and often damping, ideal for dialing in stance or track use. Lowering springs offer a fixed drop at lower cost ($200–$600). For the Charger, we have a full lowering springs comparison if you prefer that route.

I have a V6 Charger. Which coilover should I get?

Your options are ST XA (budget, 16-click rebound) or Ridetech (premium, all trims). H&R and BC Racing DS do not fit V6 Chargers.

I have a Scat Pack or Hellcat Charger. What are my options?

All four except ST XA fit. BC Racing DS is the only one designed specifically for 6.4L/6.2L spring rates and offers 30-click damping at the lowest price. H&R is street-tuned and a strong value. Ridetech fits all trims and is USA-made with adjustable rebound damping.
